What the nutrients do

Authorised nutrition claims

Only two nutrients in this formula are present at levels that permit a health claim under GB rules. These are their official wordings — nothing added, nothing implied.

Muscle function

Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function.◊

Immune function

Vitamin D contributes to the normal function of the immune system.◊

Tiredness & fatigue

Vitamin B6 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.◊

Energy metabolism

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism.◊

Nervous system

Vitamin B6 contributes to normal functioning of the nervous system.◊

Why only these two

A nutrient must be present at 15% or more of its Nutrient Reference Value before any claim can be made. In this formula only vitamin D (50% NRV) and vitamin B6 (71% NRV) reach that level.

◊ Wordings taken verbatim from the GB Nutrition and Health Claims Register. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Other ingredients

What else is in the capsule

The active ingredients and their amounts are listed above. These are the remaining components: the shell, and the two agents needed to fill a capsule.

Capsule shell

Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose. A plant-based shell rather than gelatine, which is what makes the capsule suitable for vegans.

Natural Rice Extract

Listed on the label as Numag. A flow agent, used in place of magnesium stearate.

Microcrystalline Cellulose

A plant-derived bulking agent, used to fill the capsule to a consistent volume.

Where it is made

Manufactured in the United Kingdom in a GMP-compliant facility, for Longevous LTD, 5 Brayford Square, London E1 0SG. The batch number and best-before date are printed on the base of every bottle.

What “GMP-compliant” actually means: Good Manufacturing Practice is the set of rules a facility works to — documented procedures, traceable raw materials, controlled and recorded production conditions, and a retained sample of every batch. It describes how the product is made. It is not a test of the finished capsule, and we do not present it as one.

All listed active ingredients and amounts are shown per capsule.

Jonathan, founder of Longevous

From the founder

Why Longevous exists

Longevous started with a simple frustration: every electrolyte product I tried was a flavoured drink mix built for someone else. I wanted a simple, clean format that fits real life — training, travel, long days.

So I made it myself: UK-manufactured capsules in a GMP-compliant facility, built on Himalayan Pink Sea Salt, minerals and vitamins. No sweeteners, no powder to mix. Just capsules, with water, taken as the label directs.

We show the ingredient amounts clearly and keep the formula straightforward. A small company doing a simple product properly.

Questions

Questions about Longevous electrolyte capsules

How do I take Longevous?

The label directions read: “As a food supplement take 1-2 capsules per day with 225 ml of water prior to exercise and 1 capsule with 175ml water every 30 minutes during physical activity. Do not exceed more than 10 capsules every 24 hours.”

Why capsules instead of powder?

Capsules are a convenient, unflavoured format that can be taken with water, with no powder to mix.

Is Longevous flavoured?

No. It is an unflavoured capsule with no sweeteners.

How long does one bottle last?

One bottle contains 90 capsules. How long that lasts depends on how you use it — see the directions on the label.

Why is it unflavoured?

Flavour means sweeteners, acids or masking agents. A capsule is swallowed rather than tasted, so none of that is needed — which is why the ingredients list is as short as it is.

Why capsules if I already use an electrolyte powder?

It is a format choice, not a claim of superiority. A powder needs water, a vessel and mixing. A capsule needs water. If you already enjoy your powder, keep using it.

Who makes it?

It is manufactured in the United Kingdom in a GMP-compliant facility, for Longevous LTD, 5 Brayford Square, London E1 0SG. The batch number and best-before date are printed on the base of every bottle.

Is the capsule suitable for vegans?

Yes. The shell is hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, a plant-based alternative to gelatine, and the vitamin D3 is a vegan cholecalciferol.

Why do you only make claims about vitamin D and B6?

Under GB rules a nutrient has to be present at 15% or more of its Nutrient Reference Value before any health claim can be made about it. In this formula only vitamin D (50% NRV) and vitamin B6 (71% NRV) reach that level, so those are the only two we say anything about.
